Trick or Treat with your pup at this socially distanced Halloween activity in Yaletown

Halloween's not completely cancelled! You can get dressed up and safely trick or treat at this dog-friendly Yaletown activity.

If you've been planning you and your pup's Halloween outfits all year, you can still get all dressed up for this COVID-conscious activity happening this weekend in Yaletown.

PawSwap's latest dog-friendly activity, Tails or Treats Powered by Spoiled Paws, invites dog owners to get dressed up in their spookiest costumes on October 31, 2020, and stroll the streets of Yaletown for some exciting Halloween treats.

The activity also takes you to a local pet store to enter your pup into a costume contest for your chance to win some amazing prizes - so there's no excuse to not go all out with the outfits this year.

This dog-friendly spin on traditional Trick or Treating is an entirely socially distanced, self-guided activity for dog owners to celebrate Halloween safely, with the organizers at PawSwap having taken care of most of the treats so dog parents won’t have to.

Beginning from 10am onwards at Spoiled Paws, attendees can pick up their spooky 'Tails or Treats' bag filled with lots of local goodies worth over $35, all included in the ticket price.

Inside their bag, they'll also find some special Bone Shaped Tickets to exchange for more surprise treats throughout the day, which they can start exchanging straight away at Spoiled Paws.

Attendees will then begin their adventure through Yaletown to collect more special treats while having some fun showing off their pup's costumes, before stopping off at Barking Babies and Vanpet Yaletown where they'll receive more surprise treats and gifts for their pup at the door.

Ticket holders can join the activity anytime between 10am and 6pm on Halloween, but if they want to enter the Howl-o-ween Costume Contest at Barking Babies, they must get there between 4pm and 6pm for their chance at winning two grand prizes - Best Costume and Best Trick.

The Barking Babies team will take a photo of your pup, and Vancouver will vote for the winners via their Instagram account, with winners receiving amazing prizes from Barking Babies.

"Halloween is such a fun day that so many of us look forward to, so we wanted to create an activity where dog owners can get into the spirit together while still keeping safe," says Melanie Englmaier, Event Planning and Community Coordinator at PawSwap. "With Tails or Treats, you can still celebrate this year by dressing up with your pup in your best costumes and enjoying this socially distanced adventure around Yaletown, visiting local stores that have surprise treats waiting for your pup - as well as receiving your very own goody bag full of treats!"

And for an extra treat, you can download the PawSwap app today to get $5 off your Tails or Treats tickets!
