Vancouver is blessed with a large number of fantastic off-leash dog parks, but if you're more comfortable with your pup being in a fully enclosed area, we've got you covered. These 8 parks in and around Vancouver offer plenty of space for your pup to roam free, but with the added comfort of knowing they are safely enclosed at all times so you can breathe a little easier.

1. Andy Livingstone Dog Park, Vancouver

A favourite with Downtown dog parents, this small, fully-fenced and gated enclosure is an ideal location next to the soccer fields and ball diamond on Expo Boulevard.

With nearby greenspaces, this serene park offers a peaceful escape from city life that both you and your pup can enjoy. Address: 89 Expo Boulevard (@ Carrall Street), Vancouver, BC

2. New Brighton Park, Vancouver

Located in the Hasting-Sunrise area, on the west-side of the Second Narrows Bridge, this park offers a large, fenced-in expanse of grass that active dogs will love.


There is also beach access to the Burrard Inlet if your pup likes to paddle, and there's some great views of the North Shore for dog parents to enjoy!

3. Hinge Park, Vancouver


Also known as Olympic Village Dog park, this park has a fantastic location on the waterfront and is the perfect place to stop off after a walk around the False Creek seawall. The dog off-leash area is located within a fully fenced space in the northwest corner of the park, with benches inside the park, drinking water for dogs and separate small and large dog areas. 4. Blackie Spit

This beautiful park located in the Crescent Beach neighbourhood of South Surrey has amazing views of Mud Bay and the North Shore Mountains, and includes a fully-fenced off-leash area for pups.


With two dog off-leash areas, both shared by dogs of different sizes, the main area is a mix of grass, gravel and sand, and has a covered shelter for rainy days, while the smaller area includes the only off-leash swim area in Surrey.

5. Nelson Off-Leash Dog Park, Vancouver

Just a few blocks south of Robson Street, this is another park that is ideally located for Downtown dog parents.

Featuring a fully fenced and gated off-leash enclosure, there's more than enough room for active pups to burn off some energy, with an on-leash open grassy area with plenty of park benches for you to both chill out afterwards.

If it's been raining, you can expect things to get messy as there are often large puddles in the dog area - all the more fun for them though!

6. Queen’s Park Off-leash Dog Park, New Westminster

This one acre off-leash dog area provides a perfect walk you and your pup can enjoy together, complete with hills and trees and lots of space for games of fetch. Located in the southeast section of Queen’s Park, this large area has a dog fountain, double entrance safety gates, waste receptacles and bag recycling dispensers. It also has plenty of benches so you can sit and relax while your dog burns off some energy.

7. Steveston Community Off-leash Dog Park, Richmond

Located in the heart of the beautiful historic village, this is a fantastic fully fenced and gated enclosure for pups within the 30-acre community park. The community park is a hub of activity with a playground and picnic tables, and this off-leash dog area is a great place to let your pup roam free during a family day out.

8. Emery Barnes Park, Vancouver


Ideal for Downtown dog parents, this beautiful off-leash dog park is in located in the heart of the city. Featuring a fully fenced and gated area with a doggy water fountain, this picturesque park is perfect to visit on your lunchbreak or for a few hours on a sunny weekend while your pup roams freely.
