Who you are…


You want to work on challenging problems with an enthusiastic, dog loving team. 


Your primary role will be to work closely with the CEO to ensure the company’s technology strategy serves it’s business strategy while supporting the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company. Responsibilities include the ability to…


  • Hire, and lead the development team

  • Track, analyze, and monitor technology performance metrics

  • Work with development team to create, and implement roadmaps, and tasks, while meeting deadlines to ensure successful deployment of new features

  • Constantly improve the performance of the software while ensuring readability, deployability and scalability

  • Help improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and have the chance to contribute innovative and original ideas to our technology, algorithms and product

  • Work with the product and design team to understand end-user requirements and use cases, then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution

  • Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results within a schedule

  • Work with CEO on creating, and meeting monthly, quarterly, and yearly budgets while making recommendations on how certain technologies can gain additional profits and/or reduce costs

  • Assist with the application of ongoing government grants such as IRAP and SR&ED

  • Have your finger on the industry pulse and be aware of new trends and the technologies behind them

  • Be the driving force behind the brand’s technical prowess and insight and represent this in public appearances, in front of the press, and at conferences 

  • Recommend and implement the CMS to handle content distribution across existing and emerging channels

  • Delegate, while also being comfortable enough to work on the frontline, coding alongside fellow developers when needed (native app written in Objective-C & Java)

  • Integrate with our backend services (Drupal) to ensure we are delivering a great mobile user experience that is fast, and efficient for end users while ensuring scalability 


You also meet most (if not all) of the following requirements

  • 2-7 years of recent hands-on coding and software design

  • Technical leadership experience 

  • Bachelors, masters, or doctorate degree in a related field is preferred

  • A track record of projects completed on time – you’re a flawless executor and know how to build great software

  • Evidence of being self-motivated and driven – you find satisfaction in a job well done and want to solve hard problems

  • Solid OOP and software design knowledge – you should know how to create software that’s extensible, reusable and meets desired architectural objectives

  • Objective-C & Java master and a willingness to learn new technologies if needed (ideally you have shipped 1-2 substantial apps and know how to integrate with backend RESTful APIs)

  • Experience with PHP, and My SQL

  • Experience with scripting languages is a plus
