Realizing the strength that the dog community has as a whole, inspired us to take action and create Dogs Supporting Local - an initiative that should continue with, or without a pandemic. With Dogs Supporting Local, you can help dog owners in your community find dog-friendly locations and support your local economy.

We’ve put together a platform that you can use to create a direct line of communication to local dog owners in your community to promote your brick and mortar location.

Members of the PawSwap app search for dog-friendly businesses in their city by customizing their map with categories and filters to display exactly what they are looking for.

Members click on the location to  get all the info they need before visiting with their dog. Get the address, call the business directly from the app, and see reviews from other dog owners.

* Purchasing local from local businesses will re-circulate money back into the Canadian economy by providing money to the people who need it most, while increasing tourism and promoting job creation!

What is Dogs Supporting Local? We are a team from a Canada wide pet app called PawSwap, also known as, "the app to find all the dog-friendly places in your city". Over the past months, we’ve heard thousands of stories from businesses and dog owners that have been negatively affected by COVID-19,  so we wanted to do something to help. Dogs Supporting Local aims to encourage Canadians to visit dog-friendly areas, while recognizing and promoting local brick and mortar businesses such as breweries, restaurants, stores, and hotels that don't just accept, but also welcomes dogs.
